El futuro de Carlos Vela en la MLS permanece como incógnita

HARRY HOWAFP

With all sights set on the 2024 season after the 2023 title was dramatically won by Columbus Crew, MLS officially opens up to free agency deals this Wednesday, December 13. Throughout the league, important players up and down the country will be able to freely negotiate with any team in order to agree a new deal, opening up a world of possibilities.

The condition of being a free agent within the MLS applies to all footballers who are at least 24 years of age and have played for at least five years in an MLS club. It is also necessary that their option to renew their contract with the current club has been rejected or they are out of contract after the 2023 season.

Will Carlos Vela stay at LAFC?

One of the biggest cases in MLS is that of Mexican forward Carlos Vela. LAFC’s loss in the MLS Cup final against Columbus Crew saw his contract with the Black & Gold run out; despite the intentions of both parties to reach a new agreement, nothing has been confirmed.
