NFL: Relax, Rodgers and the Packers have got this…

The New England Patriots may have won their last seven, but they’ll come undone against a strong Packers team at Lambeau Field

Back in late September, Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers told his fans five letters after their 1-2 start; R-E-L-A-X. Looking at them now sitting atop of the NFC North at 8-3, I think those fans in Green Bay are relaxed and with their home form this season, they can beat anyone in the NFL.

That includes the New England Patriots, who have beaten everything in their path since they moved on to Cincinnati. However, all good things come to an end and having to face another hot team away from home, you have to give the advantage to the Packers and their superstar number 12 at 4/7.

The earlier slate of games are headlined by the New Orleans Saints heading to the Pittsburgh Steelers and you can expect a bit of an offensive showcase. The Saints have always been a very vertical offence behind Drew Brees whilst the Steelers focus has changed from previous years; their ageing defence has given way to a balanced attack on the other side of the ball.

Pittsburgh have been solid this season, especially at home and expect them to take advantage of a shaky Saints team that can’t seem to buy a win. They are at 19/20 to win by a -5 handicap, so back Big Ben to torch New Orleans and keep up with the rest of the impressive AFC North.

The late night game is an all-AFC West affair as the 7-4 Kansas City Chiefs host the 8-3 Denver Broncos. The Chiefs fell to a surprising loss last Thursday Night to the formerly winless Oakland Raiders whilst the Broncos halted their two-game slide with a tight win against the Miami Dolphins.

A win here for the Chiefs really gives their playoff hopes a boost whilst a Denver win will allow the San Diego Chargers back into the equation should they also claim victory in their trip to the Baltimore Ravens. Peyton Manning is a danger but he’s been off form this past few weeks, so back Jamaal Charles and company to squeeze out another great win at home against a quality team at Evens, especially as Kansas City are so good at Arrowhead.
