Kamilla Cardoso Over 9.5 Points (-120)
With much of the focus concentrated on Angel Reese, it’s easy to overlook the progression of Kamilla Cardoso in her first season in the WNBA. While the rookie out of South Carolina may not post the same eye-popping rebounding numbers as her teammate, Cardoso hangs her hat on efficiency.
Over the last four games, the Chicago center has scored at least 10 points or more on a phenomenal 71% shooting from the field, while playing an average of 26.5 minutes.
The Aces have a defensive rating of over 100 and allow 83.1 points per game. Of these 83.1 points, 34 are scored in the paint, as well as 10.4 off of second-chance opportunities,
Cardoso has failed to surpass 9.5 points in the two other matchups against the Aces. We feel she gets at least 28-30 minutes of playing time today, and breaks that streak.
A’ja Wilson Over 25.5 Points (-120)
On the other end of the floor, the front-runner for the 2024 MVP will look to bounce back from two underwhelming performances, based on season standards.
It’s difficult to dispute the fact that Chicago is a very young and exciting team. Having said that, they currently lack defensive discipline, giving up way too many easy baskets to the opposition. The Sky are allowing over 81 points per game on the season, at almost 44% shooting.
A’ja Wilson is a scoring machine, who can provide points in a plethora of ways. Chicago, on the other hand, has only proven to limit opponents from beyond the arc. That may be directly correlated to poor rim protection.
The Sky concede over 36 points in the paint alone; along with 11 off of second-chance opportunities, 15.4 on turnovers, and 16.1 from the free-throw line.
Wilson has pounced on the Sky in two other meetings this season, putting up 28 and 31 points on a combined shooting percentage of 47.7%.
Rickea Jackson Over 18.5 Points + Rebounds (-120)
Rickea Jackson will look to build on what has been a positive first season in the WNBA for the Tennessee star. At this current juncture in the season, she has solidified herself as the second-most reliable scoring option for the Sparks.
Injury provides opportunity for some, and the rookie is clearly making the most of her time on the court. Over the last 12 games, Jackson has only failed to clear 18.5 Points + Rebounds on three occasions.
The Los Angeles forward has played 33 minutes or more in three straight contests, six more minutes than the season average. Jackson produced 20 Points + Rebounds in all three games on 52% shooting from the field.
Dallas is allowing 90.2 points per game on 46.9 shooting from the field, the most in the league on both accounts. The Sparks forward should have ample opportunities to score in this matchup.
Dearica Hamby Under 15.5 Points (-125)
This selection is a tough one to fully get behind. However, Dearica Hamby simply hasn’t been the same player that started the season averaging over 20 points per game.
The veteran All-Star has only exceeded 15.5 points in 1-of-7 games and has dropped in field-goal percentage by over eight percent during this time.
Dallas has not shown strong capability in stopping the opposition from scoring, so this is more than likely the best opportunity for Hamby to break out of the current lapse in production.
We hope the Los Angeles forward figures it out before the season comes to an end. It’s just difficult to get behind the higher end of this selection when the recent productivity has been so lackluster.
Satou Sabally Over 17.5 Points (-115)
Satou Sabally came out of the gate scorching hot, scoring 20 points in two straight games before a 10-point performance against the Liberty on Thursday. Today, the Dallas forward gets a matchup that is on the complete opposite end of the defensive spectrum, at a lower points threshold.
Los Angeles isn’t far behind the Wings in regards to limiting the opposition from scoring at will. The Sparks give up 85.4 points per game on 46% shooting from the field; including 8.2 three-pointers on a league-leading 37.1%.
Sabally has played 36 minutes in all three contests since returning from injury and appears to be a prime-scoring option for Dallas for the rest of the season. The fourth-year forward for the Wings has knocked down eight three-pointers in only three games, only failing to record at least one basket from deep in one contest.
